New Tech Act Update:

As funding winds down for Michigan's AT Project under the 1998 Tech Act, Congress is working to appropriate funds for the AT Act of 2004. Unlike prior legislation, the new AT Act requires state programs to provide at least 2 of the following: alternative finance programs, device loan, device demonstration, and device utilization services. Michigan's Three year State Assistive Technology Plan application is due August 26, 2005. For this next fiscal year, we'll be receiving level funding for this program.

As we complete activities under the Tech Act of 1998, some activities are winding down. We will no longer be able to offer AT funding under the Cookie Gant fund and GREEN funding is very limited. We are not able to provide funding this month. However, technical assistance to groups continues to be available. We will keep you updated about activities during this time of transition. If you have questions, please contact us!
