Road to Freedom and AT

As part of a 50 state tour, the Road to Freedom bus is making 4 stops in Michigan. Michigan's AT Program has subcontracted with local organizers to build awareness of AT at 3 of these stops. Join the fun! For more information about Road to Freedom see: http://www.roadtofreedom.org/cs/home

  • Sunday, August 12th 12 pm – 3 pm Ferris Park 500 W. Shiawassee Lansing:
    A fun, family picnic at celebration of the ADA’s 17th birthday! Join the mobility device decorating contest! For more information, please contact Marsha Moers and the Capital Area for Independent Living (517) 241-0393.
  • Monday, August 13th 11 am – 12 pm Flint, MI:
    The Disability Network will host a media and community leadership event in Flint celebrating the ADA and supporting the ADA Restoration Act. For more information, please contact Vicki Sacharski at (810) 742-1800.
  • Monday, August 13th 4 pm – 7 pm Mackinaw Bridge:
    A picnic will be held at the welcome center on the UP side of the bridge and the Tour will be making a brief stop. For more information, please contact Amy Maes at the Superior Alliance for Independent Living (SAIL) (906) 228-5744.
  • Tuesday, August 14th 12 pm – 3 pm Downtown Commons Area Marquette, MI:
    Several organizations are joining together to celebrate the ADA’s 17th birthday and welcome the Tour. A picnic will be held downtown Marquette with food, music, fun, information from local organizations, and the Road to Freedom Tour. Maybe you or someone you know is looking for AT? If you can't find what you are looking for, you can post it as an item wanted and receive an email message telling you if and when someone posts the item you are looking for. You may find the AT you are seeking for a bargain price - even for free!
