New Tech Act Update:

As funding winds down for Michigan's AT Project under the 1998 Tech Act, Congress is working to appropriate funds for the AT Act of 2004. Unlike prior legislation, the new AT Act requires state programs to provide alternative finance programs, device loan, device demonstration, and device utilization services. The Senate Appropriations subcommittee will be considering their bill on Thursday, July 14. The applications to the states to apply for funding are due out after July 1 and will be due back within 60 days. As we complete activities under the Tech Act of 1998, some activities are winding down. We will no longer be able to offer AT funding under the Cookie Gant fund and GREENfunding is limited to applications currently in process as of June 29th (i.e. a final draft is being reviewed.) We will keep you updated about activities during this time of transition. For a list of previously funded GREEN projects, please visit: http://www.copower.org/At/green/updates.htm
