Michigan's Assistive Technology Program
Building Your Financial Future Local Sites
Welcome to Building Your Financial Future!
Through a grant from the National Credit Union Foundation to support the Assistive Technology Loan and Telework Funds, twenty-eight trainers from around the state held 74 trainings reaching over 893 people with disabilities and others in Michigan. Participants learned the steps necessary to acquire a successful financial future including budgeting, credit and credit repair. Courses also covered information about the loan funds. All loan fund applicants, including those who were denied loans were invited to attend the trainings. The results have been overwhelmingly positive as evidenced by evaluation surveys filled out by participants. A DVD explaining the benefits of financial education has been developed and released.
