General Information:

  • Solutions: Assistive Technology for People with Hidden Disabilities:
    This is a publication developed by the North Dakota Interagency Program for Assistive Technology (IPAT) which supports people with disabilities who require assistive technology devices and/or services.
  • Assistive Technology for Cognitive Limitations: This article provides a framework for understanding functional limitations related to Acquire Brain Injury (ABI) and to identify assistive technology and compensatory strategies that can be used to overcome limitations and enhance functional capacities in home, work and community settings.
  • Cognitive Technology Literature Database is designed to provide a comprehensive, searchable bibliography summarizing research on cognitive technologies utilized by persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

    This website outlines the main components of the neurologic exam. The goal is to demonstrate through streaming video segments how each step of the neurologic exam is performed. In addition, the page briefly discusses which neuroanatomic systems are tested by each part of the neurologic exam, so that its functional and practical relevance will be better appreciated.

    The Misunderstood Minds project consists of three elements: The PBS documentary, first airing March 27, 2002; the companion Web site on PBS Online, www.pbs.org/misunderstoodminds; and the Developing Minds Multimedia Library.

  • National Center for Learning Disabilities Resource Locator:
    The LD Resources web site is a non-commercial site designed, built, and run by Richard Wanderman who is an educational technology consultant, well-known presenter, and a successful adult with a learning disability. Find a list of resources from schools to tape recorders to computers and more.
  • Inspiration Software - download a free copy:
    Inspiration® is a powerful visual learning tool that inspires students, grades 4-12, to develop ideas and organize thinking. Inspiration's integrated diagramming and outlining environments work together to help students comprehend concepts and information.
  • Internet Special Education Resources: Special Education Advocacy Services .
    ISER is a nationwide directory of professionals who serve the learning disabilities and special education communities. They help parents and caregivers find local special education professionals to help with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder assessment, therapy, advocacy, and other special needs.
