New Extensions at MDRC:
We have new extension numbers at MDRC. For most staff, simply add a 3 to the beginning of previous extension. If in doubt, call us (800) 760-4600 or (517) 333-2477 and listen to the new list. Thanks for your patience as we learn to use our new mail and voice mail system!
New on the "Fan The Flame" Blog:

Assistive Technology Program:
MDRC is planning the release of a initial version of the AT Xchange
website for June. Plans for marketing and testing
of the site for accessibility are in development. We will be holding 6
-8 focus groups around the state to assist in the
marketing plans. Staff attended the National "Pass it On" conference
in Atlanta this month to learn more about the
reuse of assistive technology.
We are also in the process of working with partners to plan several awareness activities including at least 3 conferences. The conferences will be held in the Detroit area, the Eastern UP and in the Northeast LP. We are working with SILC to convene a planning committee for a conference on web accessibility. All of these activities will occur prior to the end of November 2006. Watch for more details as plans develop!

Assistive Technology Loan and Telework Funds:
Training for returning and new trainers for the "Building Your Financial Future" educational component of the funds was completed this month. Training this summer at local sites around the state will focus on financial skills for young adults and outreach to people who speak Spanish. This project is a collaboration with the Financial Health Credit Union the MSU Extension and made possible by funding from the National Credit Union Foundation. http://www.copower.org/At/BYFFlocal.htm.
