Thank you for all you have done to further the cause of equal rights for people with disabilities! Together we have accomplished many things including
reforming long-term care, building the CIL network throughout the 80s, improvin As a part of our 25th anniversary celebration, we invite you to help lay the foundation for the next 25 years. We are establishing a permanent endowment fund in honor and memory of our friend and colleague, Jim Francis-Bohr. This fund will firmly establish MDRC’s ability to continue our advocacy work and fund Jim’s vision. We will use this lasting endowment for advocacy on long-term care policy issues and other issues important to expanding choice in Michigan’s disability community. We know this will allow us to continue to honor Jim and his work for decades to come. As you probably know, Jim was active in improving access to community-based long-term care. Last year, Jim was appointed by the Governor to serve on Michigan’s Long Term Care Commission. Jim used that platform to teach all of us that personal choice is the key to effective support for a happy and fulfilling life. He lived that truth himself. There is no better memorial to Jim than to make the fostering of choice the core of our work. To date, $11,000 has been given in Jim’s memory by colleagues, friends and family members. Our goal is to more than double that amount and raise at least $25,000 in honor of our 25 years of excellence in advocacy. Please thoughtfully consider a special donation this year in celebration of MDRC’s 25th anniversary and in support of the Jim Francis-Bohr Memorial Fund. Help us exceed our goal and plan for a bright future of advocacy where choice is core of all we do. Sincerely, Norm DeLisle P.S. If you have already given in Jim’s memory, thank you for your gift. Please consider another gift to help us reach our goal and celebrate our anniversary. Support MDRC On-line:Support MDRC through the mail:You can also give your support to MDRC through snail mail.
