With the assistance of federal stimulus dollars, funds have been channeled through the Continuum of Care to help in homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing from all parts of Michigan. Each lead agency under contract is currently called a "Central Intake", which provides services similar to what one would expect from a Single Point of Entry or a Housing Resource Center.
This represents a giant step forward in allowing persons with disabilities who are living in precarious arrangements, who are already homeless, and those wishing to exit nursing homes, by providing one phone call or one place to go to get the assistance they need. A list of the Central Intakes is available on the MSHDA web site, but is not easily located.
Download an Excel document which lists all the sites and their contact information. A search of the tabs across the bottom of the document will get you to the MSHDA region of your choice.
