NASA provides specific internships aimed at students with disabilities based on their talents, qualifications and interests. This is a great opportunity for students thinking about going into management at a big company. Students graduating in September 2007, with leadership experience, and willingness to relocate to San Francisco, Phoenix or Minneapolis are encouraged to apply. The Workforce Recruitment ProgramThe Workforce Recruitment Program for College Students with Disabilities (WRP) is a resource to connect public and private sector employers nationwide with highly motivated postsecondary students and recent graduates with disabilities who are eager to prove their abilities in the workforce. Employers seek to fill both temporary and permanent positions in a variety of fields. DMI ScholarsThe Drum Major Institute for Public Policy (DMI) has launched DMI Scholars program to identify progressive college students from diverse communities and train them in the skills necessary to obtain and succeed in entry-level public policy positions. College sophomores and juniors who have demonstrated commitment to advocating for fairness and equity, possesses strong communication skills and are interested in exploring public policy as a vehicle for their activism are encouraged to apply. This new organization will provide and opportunity for fellowship and networking among law students, potential law students and practicing attorneys with disabilities and will allow students to advocate and educate on a national level, in the interests of law students with disabilities. This very interactive workshop will take participants through everything they need to think about to start a group for girls with disabilities including: recruitment, curriculum development, group dynamics, capacity building and more. This workshop is free. Campus Progress AwardsCampus Progress, a project of the Center for American Progress, works to strengthen progressive voices on college and university campuses nationwide; counter the growing influence of right-wing groups on campus; and empower new generations of progressive leaders. As part of that project, they are offering Campus Progress Action Grants to help support young people working to make a difference.
