The purpose of the Leadership Development Training program is twofold: First, to encourage existing leadership development programs to be inclusive and accessible to people with disabilities. Second, to broaden the knowledge of disability history, pride, and the disability rights movement. Go back to the top of this page What types of leadership development trainings has CCL created?CCL has created a leadership development curriculum entitled "We Lead." This curriculum offers information about disability history, pride, an leadership skills. Participants practice this knowledge as they work together to identify, organize, and deliver a community service project. It was first implemented in Kent County in 2005, and since then, several organizations throughout the state have replicated We Lead or adapted it to fit the needs of a specific community.
