Interns will work with the CONNECT team to complete objectives that support a statewide network for students with disabilities. The interns will work independently in one of four regions (Upper and Northern Lower Peninsula, Southeast Michigan, West Michigan, Thumb Area) throughout the state. All interns will receive a stipend of $3,600 and coverage of approved travel expenses. The Washington Center InternshipNow in its 30th year, The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC) is an educational nonprofit organization serving hundreds of colleges and universities in the U.S. and other countries by providing selected students challenging opportunities to work and learn in Washington, D.C. for academic credit. The White House Internship ProgramThe White House Internship Program is a unique opportunity to learn more about he daily operations of the White House. In addition to normal office duties interns attend weekly lectures, volunteer at special events, participate e tours and contribute to a community service project in the Washington, DC area. Disability Pride Parade Mission is to change the way people think about and define “disability,” To break down and end the internalized shame among people with disabilities and to promote the belief in society that disability is a natural and beautiful part of human diversity in which people living with disabilities can take Pride. Give your Feedback to the ADAGive comments on the ADA. Talk about what has worked for you, what barriers you still encounter and how the ADA has made a difference in your life. The form is short and simple. Comment only on topics of interest or concern to you. Scholarships Available for Students with DisabilitiesReebok Human Rights Young Activist ProgramDo you know a young activist that is working hard? Students will be able to donate $5,000 to a nonprofit of their choice.
