Now in its 30th year, The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC) is an educational nonprofit organization serving hundreds of colleges and universities in the U.S. and other countries by providing selected students challenging opportunities to work and learn in Washington, D.C. for academic credit.

Disability Pride Parade

Check out the third annual Disability Pride Parade in Chicago. Disability Pride Parade Mission is to change the way people think about and define “disability,” To break down and end the internalized shame among people with disabilities and to promote the belief in society that disability is a natural and beautiful part of human diversity in which people living with disabilities can take Pride.
The Parade date is Saturday July 21.

Disability Pride Picnic and ADA 16th Anniversary Celebration

Join ADAPT-Michigan in a free celebration or disability culture and pride! Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation

This foundation is seeking outstanding professionals working in the field of inclusive service and supports for people with mental retardation intellectual and developmental disabilities for an intensive one-year Public Policy Fellowship in Washington, D.C.

Scholarships Available for Students with Disabilities

Reebok Human Rights Young Activist Program

Do you know a young activist that is working hard? Reward them with recognition by nominating them for the Rebook Young Activist Award. Reebok is calling for nominations of student activists. Students will be able to donate $5,000 to a nonprofit of their choice.

Stories of Everyday Young Heroes

Do you know a young hero who should be profiled in the National Service Briefing?  Nominate a young person between the ages of 5-25, who you think deserves to be profiled as a young hero. 
To submit a Young Heroes nomination please send the name, age, city, and state of the young person you are nominating, as well as  a brief description of their involvement in service to change their community,  Self-nominations are accepted.
